What we collect

When you contact us, we receive the details you choose to send, such as your name, business details, contact information and enquiry. The website records only whether an email or phone contact control was used, its page placement and the time. That event does not contain your message, email address or phone number.

Why we use it

We use enquiry and client information to respond, provide requested services, administer our agreement, keep necessary business records, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations. Our legal bases are taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, and legal obligation where applicable.

Contacting garages that have not contacted us

We sometimes send a single email to an independent garage that trades as a limited company or LLP, to tell it about our Google Business Profile refresh. We take the company’s name, number and registered details from Companies House and the contact address from the garage’s own website. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interests in finding customers for a service that is relevant to that business (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We do not email sole traders or partnerships without consent. We send one email, with no follow-up unless you reply, and we do not use tracking pixels. You can object at any time by replying “stop” to the email or by writing to our privacy contact; we will stop at once and keep only the minimum record needed to make sure we never contact you again. Details of garages that do not enquire are deleted after 12 months.

Website technology

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and records only aggregate figures such as pages viewed, referring site, country, browser and device type. For outreach quality control, a daily campaign page records an aggregate page visit and records which main action was selected, such as booking a call, contacting us or opening secure checkout. These events contain the campaign day and action only; they do not contain a recipient identity, message content or a cross-site identifier. We use the totals to improve our emails and website.

Cookies, only if you accept

When you first visit, the site asks whether you accept cookies. Until you choose, and if you choose Reject, none of the tools below is loaded and no cookie is set. If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 (analytics: which pages are read and how visitors find the site; cookies _ga and _ga_<id>, up to 2 years; Google keeps the data for 14 months), Google Tag Manager (loads those tags, no cookies of its own) and the Meta Pixel (advertising: whether our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to visits or enquiries, and showing those ads to people likely to be interested; cookies _fbp and _fbc, 90 days). Providers: Google Ireland Ltd and Google LLC, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd; they may process this data in the United States under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. The legal basis is your consent. Your choice is kept in your browser's local storage for 12 months; change it at any time with Cookie settings, also in the footer. If you withdraw consent, these cookies are deleted from this site.

Our hosting and security provider may process standard request information, including IP address, browser details and security logs, to deliver and protect the site. When you use the contact form, the details you submit are sent securely to our private business workflow and mailbox so we can respond. The website does not publish those details or use them for a mailing list.

The automated assistant answers common questions locally first. Questions it cannot match may be sent, without chat history, to OpenRouter and a selected model provider to generate a short answer. Do not enter names, email addresses, phone numbers or confidential garage information in the assistant. Garage Signal does not save assistant conversation history.

Call bookings

Our scheduling page uses Cal.com to show availability and arrange requested calls. Cal.com receives the booking details you enter and may set technology needed to operate its calendar. We use those details only to arrange, conduct and follow up on the requested call. Calls are not recorded unless we tell you beforehand and obtain any agreement required.

Sharing and retention

We use service providers only where needed to host the site, operate business email, process payments and deliver contracted work. We do not sell personal data. Enquiries that do not become clients are normally deleted after 12 months; contract and financial records are kept as required for accounting, tax and legal purposes.

Your rights

You may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability where applicable, and may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. To make a request, email our privacy contact.
